Insole Court Trust Seeks New Trustees

Insole Court is a magnificent Grade II* listed Victorian mansion and gardens in Llandaff, Cardiff and is operated by an independent charity, the Insole Court Trust. It has undergone an extensive refurbishment as part of a major renewal project funded by National Lottery Heritage and Community Funds, Cardiff Council, Cadw and other donors. In 2016, Insole Court transferred operations from Cardiff Council to the Insole Court Trust as part of the largest community asset transfer scheme in Wales to date.

The renewed Insole Court is both a visitor attraction and a community hub. The Stable Yard outbuildings provide community facilities, hireable rooms and activity spaces, a Gift Shop, and the Potting Shed Café. The Mansion features dedicated interpretation and exhibition space, which tells the story of its survival and the role of the Insole family in industrial South Wales. There are also grand rooms that are hired for meetings, events and receptions. The site regularly welcomes thousands of visitors each month and is becoming a much-loved part of Cardiff’s cultural landscape.

In its sixth year, Insole Court is beginning an exciting new chapter, building on our past success and looking to the future. Further capital development, expansion of our services and events are all planned, as the Trust aims to take Insole Court to its full potential. As the charity embarks on this exciting new phase, the Board also seeks to recruit additional trustees.

We are inviting applications from individuals with experience and expertise in the following key development areas:

Food & Beverage

Marketing

Fundraising

Charity Governance

The role of the trustee involves attending monthly meetings of the Board and other committees, usually during evenings or at weekends. Our Trustees are ambassadors for Insole Court and a vital component in developing our profile and reputation.
