Llandaff Conservation Area Advisory Group

Vacancy: The Group is currently seeking to fill a vacancy for a member who is a resident of the Llandaff Conservation Area.

The Llandaff Conservation Area Advisory Group has been established since 1968 when the first Llandaff Conservation Area was created. The Group’s purpose is to review and submit comments on planning applications submitted to Cardiff Council that require conservation area consent. The Group submits comments on any schemes and proposals that are likely to have an impact on the Llandaff Conservation Area. The group has played a significant role in informing the Llandaff Conservation Area Appraisal documents, adopted by the council, that act as policy guidance and inform decision making. The Group’s remit is to endeavour to ensure developments that do not detract from, but that enhance, the Llandaff Conservation Area.

The Llandaff Conservation Group is made up of community representatives of Llandaff Cathedral, The Llandaff Society, Cardiff Victorian Society, Insole Court Trust and Cardiff Metropolitan University - together with local residents of the conservation areas. It includes professional practitioners with architecture, engineering and historical understanding of the listed buildings and conserved locations in Llandaff.

The Group is currently seeking to fill a vacancy for a member who is a resident of the Llandaff Conservation Area. The Group meets approximately once a month (less if there are no applications) at Insole Court usually at around 6pm. This is an unremunerated, voluntary activity.

If you have an interest in conservation, the area of Llandaff and would like to be considered for this role please contact the Chair, Llandaff Councillor Peter Jenkins by email on [email protected] or for an informal discussion call on 07977 395537
