Phil Stretton-Brown
What is your role at Insole Court?
I’m the Operations Manager, which means I look after the delivery of our day-to-day business and ensure everything is working properly.
How long have you worked here?
Just over a year, and counting!
What’s your favourite part of working here?
My job is very reactive, so every day is different. I like the variety, problem solving, history and talking to people; so, I’ve enjoyed my time here so far!
Favourite part of Insole Court
I really like the mismatched nature of the building. Doors that don’t go anywhere, cobbled together staircases, hidden ceilings. They all tell the story of the building and its strange history. I’ve also learned more than I wanted to know about trees
What are your hobbies outside of work?
I like bouldering, which is climbing without the ropes (but you don’t go that high) and I have a weekly Dungeons and Dragons game because I’m a super cool individual.
Favourite Film/Book/TV Series
Film: Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Book: The Time machine did it by John Swartzwelder
TV: Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Ideal working day
No big surprises, and plenty of coffee from The Potting Shed Cafe!
