INTO THE SEA OF SONG: Music, Story, Mantra, Meditation

October 19 @ 19:30 - 21:30

INTO THE SEA OF SONG : an evening with Awen’s Call – the Bardic Band

Using acoustic music, storytelling, group mantra singing and meditation – all with a Celtic and Himalayan twist – our aim is to create an entertaining, energising and inspiring space and a way you can connect with your inner self. This is an opportunity to go deeper in your spiritual journey – no matter which particular path you’re on!

YOUR SPIRITUAL GUIDES FOR THE NIGHT…
Awen’s Call is a growing troupe of performers who follow the approach of the early Druids and Bards. We play original Celtic-inspired folk and folk rock which we weave into story-led events, a podcast, and events like this one which fuse Western and Eastern mystical concepts.

The evening is led by Creative Director Michael Sebastien and Bardic Singer Elizabeth Jardine who have explored music and spirituality for over fifty years. An Awen’s Call event is a journey into the hidden world and an encounter mixing myth, mysticism, music and meditation from the heart of the Himalayas, which we hope you will find transformative.
(This event features an acoustic trio.)

WHAT IS ‘THE SEA OF SONG’?
Spiritual Awakening can be likened to leaving the beach, plunging into the deep and feeling the water lifting you up as you learn to swim stronger and sense its currents.
Some refer to the Ocean of Consciousness that envelops us all — others use sound or vibration as their metaphor. We’ve simply fused those concepts! Going ‘Into The Sea of Song’ simply means entering the breadth, depth and the sheer wildness of Spirit. Of course, Spirit itself goes by many different names on different continents – Prāṇa, Shakti, Holy Ghost, Kundalini, Ruach, Rūḥ, Nwyfre or Paramatma are just a few – but this only indicates that we’re all essentially chasing after the same thing!

To those of us on the Bardic and Druidic path, Awen (Welsh for flowing inspiration) is another name we use.
There are many similarities between the Western Celtic (Druidic) and Eastern Indian (Dharmic) traditions. We’ll be weaving in and exploring some of those shared concepts and beliefs throughout the evening.
